With healthy living on the rise detoxing and cleanses have become a trend. All these things promise to cleanse our bodies and rid it of toxins . While we are preparing our bodies for greatness, we should be doing the same for our mind and spirit. Here are a few tips to detox your life.
Unplug
With everything at your fingertips, I know how easy it is to get distracted by cell phones. You know how it goes you log in, you’re scrolling and hours later, your on a strangers page and you have no idea how you got there. If only a for few hours a day, make unplugging a priority. Use that time to work on your goals, have a real human interaction, or simply rest.
Clean up your circle
Remove anybody or anything that disturbs your peace. At times we hold on to people because we have history. It’s ok to let go of toxic people. Some times your peace is all you have, protect it!
Come to terms with your past
We cannot heal if we are carrying baggage. Don’t be a prisoner to your past. Talk with someone, journal, do whatever it is you needs to do to take the weight of your past off your shoulders and move forward.
Exhale
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your mental well being is to just be still. It’s hard to take on life’s task when you’re overwhelmed. Step back, take a deep breath, and head back in there with a clear head.
Feed your spirit
Get into your Bible daily and make prayer life! I like to give God the first part of my day and meditate on his word daily. Just as your body needs nourishment, your soul needs it as well.
